Peer Support Specialist & Family Support Partner

Job Description: PVFC is looking to hire a Peer Support Specialist and a Family Support Partner to work in our office locations in Pocatello and Soda Springs Idaho. This position will start part time and work towards full time as the need arises. Hours are flexible based on consumer needs.

Peer Support Specialists: must have lived experience and have sufficiently progressed in the recovery process to maintain certification standards. Applicant should also be organized, have good working knowledge of peer support programs and recovery in Mental Health. Job duties include: Assisting/advocating for those individuals who are struggling in their own recovery process due to mental illness, developing recovery goals and safety plans, addressing barriers to reaching goals, and connecting individuals with professional recovery resources in their community.

Family Support Partners: Applicants must be a Certified Family Support Partner and be in good standing. A Certified Family Support Partner is a person who has lived experience caring for a child with a mental health disorder and has sufficiently navigated the recovery process to maintain certification standards. Applicant should also be organized, have good working knowledge of family support programs and mental health issues. Job duties include: Assisting caregivers who are caring for a child diagnosed with a mental health disorder, or a coexisting mental health, developmental and/or substance use disorder. Hired individuals will assist and advocate with caregivers to strengthen their parental roles and promote skills needed for resiliency and coping.

Position Requirements: Both positions require certification as either a Peer Support Specialist or Family Support Partner and be eligible to work in Idaho. Hired employees must be able to pass a criminal history background check.

Salary and Benefits: Wage is based on experience and certification. Benefits available for full time staff including: Health insurance, dental, reimbursement for travel, paid holidays, and personal leave time. We will train for this position.
